Enjoy!

Well, here it is! My last cake for my cake class! As of last night, I "graduated" from Wilton's Cake Course I. It was really fun taking these classes the last four weeks, and I'm excited about all I learned. The last cake was supposed to be roses, but we had also learned how to do sweet peas. So, I decided to do my cake in sweet peas since my roses still need some help. I wish I had a picture of my friend, Michelle's, roses because they were great! I think next year I'll take Course II with Michelle where they'll teach us Royal Icing. For anyone who bakes, these past three cakes were done with Buttercream Icing (aka makes you tanky from all the Crisco). YUM! :)

My first "Gig"

Okay, not really a gig, but it was the first time I was asked to make a cake for something other than my cake class. I made this for my friends, Jesica and Morgan, for their baby shower last Saturday. This was the "mommy" cake. It was french vanilla cake with two layers of strawberry and one layer in between of vanilla pudding. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun doing this cake, and everyone seemed to like it! :)

Flowers!

Here's my second cake from my class! We could have done a clown cake, but I wanted to do flowers instead. I thought they looked nicer. This was also the first cake I did where I used applesauce instead of oil. It made it taste a little different, but not much. I think I'll just stick with the oil the next time. I think I like that consistency better. It tasted good though! Yum! :)

The Green Meanie

Well, here is my second cake! I hadn't planned on making my blogs about the cakes I'm making, but besides our wedding planning, that is the new "hobby" that I am doing. So... here is my green cake! We'll see how it turns out after my class tonight! :)

DREAM BIG!

Well, my cake certainly doesn't look professional, but I am SO excited! This is the first cake that I actually used some skill in trying to decorate! It was fun learning how to do it, and I recommend the Wilton Cake Decorating Classes to anyone who likes to bake. It was fun! :)

Thanks, Weezer! Nothing like a good piece of @$$!

Okay, probably not the way I wanted to start out my first blog, but this made me laugh today! My friend, Michelle, and I are taking the first course of the Wilton Cake Decorating classes. Today is our second class where we have to bring in an iced cake. Anyhow, she was making me laugh when she brought up what is said in Steel Magnolias about the red velvet cake when she asked me about Ace's groom's cake for our wedding reception. So, for my first random blog, there you go! Enjoy! I'm sure there will be more to come! :)

This is my iced cake for class (chocolate cake) that will be decorated tonight. We'll see how it turns out! :)
